Our Team

John Donovan, Jr.
John Donovan was born and raised in Houston, Texas and attended college in Austin at the University of Texas. After graduating from UT in 2000 with degrees in Finance and Accounting, Mr. Donovan joined the Houston Energy Investment Banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette which was acquired shortly thereafter by Credit Suisse.

During his tenure at Credit Suisse, Mr. Donovan participated in nearly $9 billion in transactions across 14 distinct deals in a variety of arenas including, (i) public equity, debt and hybrid security underwritings and (ii) financial advisory assignments such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and structured financings. After a few years at Credit Suisse, Mr. Donovan joined Quantum Energy Partners where he would shift his focus away from large-cap, public companies and more towards private, start-up E&P companies.

Will Page
Managing Director
Mr. Page is a Managing Director and brings over 19 years of investment banking experience including over 135 engagements (>45 Public Offerings, 30 Private Placements, >30 M&A Advisory, >15 Fairness Opinions and other Financial Advisory) primarily for oilfield service, midstream and upstream energy companies.

Prior to joining Donovan Ventures, Mr. Page was previously with Ernst & Young Capital Advisors, Stephens Inc., Citigroup Global Markets and Sanders Morris Harris.

Mr. Page holds a B.B.A in Finance with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Texas.

Keri W. Herrin
Vice President of Investor Relations
Keri W. Herrin joined the Donovan Ventures team to lead investor relations, assist with advisory services and lend her expertise to deal execution.

Mrs. Herrin has an extensive background in energy finance, including investment banking, commercial banking and consulting services. She has participated in all phases of the oil and gas cycle and capital structure, including initial public offerings, equity and debt transactions, evaluating merger and acquisition candidates, budgeting, reporting and valuation.

From 2007 until joining Donovan Ventures, Mrs. Herrin served as an independent financial consultant to E&P, OFS and midstream companies, assisting them in the financial and analytical evaluation of their businesses.

Prior to consulting, she served as Vice President at Texas State Bank (predecessor acquired by BBVA Compass) where she originated their Energy Lending program and maintained a portfolio of energy, real estate and other industrial clients’ commercial banking.

Mrs. Herrin began her career as an investment banker and worked in the Houston Energy offices for Prudential Securities and Credit Suisse First Boston.  Mrs. Herrin received her BBA in the Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin.
Robert E. Smith III
Vice President
Robert E. Smith III is the Vice President, responsible for financial modeling, generating investor reports and aiding in the investment diligence process. Mr. Smith has participated in over $500 million of debt/equity private placement transactions since joining Donovan Ventures. Prior to joining, Mr. Smith attended Louisiana State University and received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering in 2014. While at LSU, he played on its Varsity football team and won a SEC Championship in his Sophomore year.

Mr. Smith currently serves on the boards of Regiment, LLC and Omega Sands, LLC.

Laury Ramcharan
Mrs. Ramcharan is the Controller at Donovan Ventures, where she is responsible for managing several aspects of finance services such as accounting, reporting, treasury, and budgeting as well as developing organizational policies and strategies for the company and portfolio companies.

Mrs. Ramcharan has over 12 years in both industry and professional services experience across a broad range of accounting and finance areas including financial and operational audits, compliance, business process, and internal and external financial reporting. Mrs. Ramcharan began her career as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP with client experience focused primarily on public and non-public upstream energy companies.

Outside of work, Laury enjoys spending time with her family and horseback riding. Laury received her BA in accounting from Hendrix College and her MS in accounting from Trinity University.
